Social Networking -The way the 21st century communicates now.

What is Social networking?Social networking is the grouping of individuals into specific groups, like small rural communities or a neighborhood subdivision, if you will. Although social networking is possible in person, especially in the workplace, universities, and high schools, it is most popular online. This is because unlike most high schools, colleges, or workplaces, the internet is filled with millions of individuals who are looking to meet other people, to gather and share first-hand information and experiences about golfing, gardening, aesthetics and cosmetic surgery, developing friendships or professional alliances, finding employment, business-to-business marketing and even groups sharing information about the end of the Mayan calendar and the Great Shift.

What is the limit of the Internet? There is no limit. The topics and interests are as varied and rich as our society and the history of the human being. The friends that you can make are just one of the many benefits to social networking online. Another one of those benefits includes diversity because the internet gives individuals from all around the world access to social networking sites. This means that although you are in the United States, you could develop an online friendship with someone in Denmark or India.

Not only will you make new friends, but you just might learn a thing or two about new cultures or new languages and learning is always a good thing.I have heard a very funny story about how you should not use Facebook.

A teenager-boy from U.S.A. ''fell in love'' with a girl from Romania. After several months they began to isolate themselves at home. The American boy stole money from his parents and came to Romania. But he discovered that ''Juliet'' was actually a boy.In 1998, Kraut showed a correlation between Internet use and declines in social relationships and isolation.Darkness...When everything that you know and love...Is taken from you so harshly...All you can think about...Is anger, hatred and even revenge...And no one can save you.Sometimes in wars...We fight to protect what's precious to us...Even...if we don't know the outcome.Because...It's so hard when you lose someone...Greater use of the Internet was also associated with small, but statistically significant declines in social involvement as measured by communication with the family and the size of people’s local social networks, and with increases in loneliness, a psychological state associated with social involvement.I will say an “Internet Paradox” because the Internet is heavily used for communication, yet it makes people lonelier.

Strong relationships developed online are rare; most people use the internet to keep up with offline relationships. The Daily Mail just ran a thought-provoking article about the effect that social websites have on childhood development. In short, eminent neuroscientist Susan Greenfield claims that social networking sites like Facebook and Twitter shorten attention spans and contribute to an instant gratification, self-centered mindset. We know how small babies need constant reassurance that they exist. My fear is that these technologies are infantilising the brain into the state of small children who are attracted by buzzing noises and bright lights, who have a small attention span and who live for the moment.
I often wonder whether real conversation in real time may eventually give way to these sanitised and easier screen dialogues, in much the same way as killing, skinning and butchering an animal to eat has been replaced by the convenience of packages of meat on the supermarket shelf. When the spirit stays fixed on a single idea, its intensity weakens.Simple and cheap Internet access has a negative consequence. No one can guarantee the correctness of users. There is already a wide range of malware, created by ill-willed that begin with spying (invisible) a user's activity and ends with theft of bank account of people who did know how to defend themselves.

But since then Internet has evolved, changed.Internet is like a sword. It depends on the hand that holds it.Where would I be without Internet? It's a good question that is hard to answer. One thing is certain.Without Internet I would be a weaker person.Yes internet is a fountain that can give unlimited power. Why would I want more power? It is true that with greater power comes greater responsibilities.Paraphrase of the Teutonic Knights code:''What's the point of a man who is not trying to make a better world?''.I want to make justice. But justice on earth is the privilege of power. What is power?True power lies not in physical strength or the place that you held in society. It lies in the quantity and quality of information held by a person, analytical skills and dissimulation.

But beware! The Dissimulation must be within the limits of morality.Socrates said:''Be master of your will and slave of your conscience''.I think that the worldwide discussions between teenagers are an important tool to gain more wisdom. As Descartes saying:''by thoughts we can find the light. Not humility but the flame of the mind can rise us.''Light does not come from light but from darkness.Prevalence of the Internet in the world is huge: in June 30, 2009 about 1.67 billion inhabitants of the Earth had acces to the Internet. An incredible number of people use social networking.

They can share various information, landscape pictures, traditional music, movies.I'm amazed that using a communication program like Skype,Yahoo Messenger,MSN Hotmail and a microphone I can hear the voice of a friend found in thousands of km away. You can even see the figure of a friend using Webcam from England to Brazil. You may admire the teenagers rooms from all over the world. You can realize the cultural differences that make the world more beautiful from the landscape of the room by the way objects are arranged and by their contents. In the last sentences I have used several times the word friend. But what is friendship?Friendship is an attempt by a man is measured,a soul in two bodies, being with friends when they are not right, but when they are wrong, friendship is the night shade which increases along with the sunset of the life. Many say that friendship does not exist.I think there is true frienship but it is very rare.Let's be honest with us.How many good people we encounter in life?Conspiracy-theory fans say that too much social networking is not only a danger for teenagers.Making us accounts on sites like facebook and publishing personal data on it or our pictures will lead to mass globalisation and and loss of privacy.Excessive globalisation means imposing same laws at different cultures. There are many fiction books about intelligence organizations which want to control the world as Bildemberg club,Skull and Bones,Round Tables,Council of Foreign Affairs,Trilateral Commission,Illuminati. In one word is it a masonic society,Grand Lodge.
The best authors in the field are the Spanish writer Cristina Martin and the German knight of the pen Jan van Helsing. How to escape from the obsessive slogan:''Work, eat, and subject yourself to the system, because there is no alternative to the wonderful world we built it for you?''You want to be slaves or would you prefer to be free? How far would you go to defend your country? How far would you go before your honor? How far would you go to fulfill your duty? And how far would you go to become a hero? Some countries prohibit or restrict the access of the population to Internet in various fields: politics, religion.

For example North Korea,China.I remember that I was interested in the socio-political situation of communist China. But my sources of information were not enough to feed my so natural curiosity. So I searched and found one of the most important site from China which is in hi5 style:''Xanga''.There I had the opportunity with just a few clicks to make friends from the Far East. The information presented in a friendly, fun conversation was far more interesting than if I had learned from books. From there I learned about the great general Sun Tzu who wrote the famous book Art of War.

I will give some examples of his quotes:''When the army will engage in long campaigns, state resources will not suffice.Attack where the adversary is not expecting. If you are able, simulate stupidity, if you actively simulate passivity.Trick the enemy to trap him, simulate disorder and strike!''.I was fascinated when I have learned about the two main religions in China:Confucianism and Daoism. The great difference between these religions and Christianity is that in the first case pragmatism is at a much lower level.God-man relationship is more neglected.Chinease religion is more an ethical and philosophical system,a complex system of moral, social, political and quasi-religious.Because of the totalitarian system there is much discipline, maybe too much. They learn between eight o'clock and twelve o'clock midday and then go home and resume at fourteen o'clock and complete the program at eighteen o'clock.Their culture is amazing and because the giant scale of China there are several dialects in different regions.India is much alike.I understand now that we should not look through prejudices. Many Chinese do not agree with what is happening in Tibet.

To better understand the psychological effects of social networking I will tell you how I overcome human limits, destroying my fear of death without being aware of it.I was talking to a friend from the east when an earthquake hit.I said to him:earthquake!I will be right back in two minutes if I am not be dead until then.I went to cover like we do in such situations and I had no patience to return to my conversation while mom and grandma prayed and said all sorts of nonsense.I loved to entertain at their expense. When it stopped I began to laugh and throw myself back into the armchair as if nothing abnormal happened,as if I went to the door and returned back while the people went out on the street.Life is a game and those who are willing to die will win.To really see how valuable is your life ask yourself how many things you have that you can not buy with money. The wonder called Internet allowed me to move more East to Japan.

I met a different person who is passionate about skiing and wants to come in Romania. They have an impressive dynasty of monarchs. But to understand the long life of the dynasty from Japan we must look to the Samurai. My friend said that Japan was made by a sword. He said that the gods stuck a sword in the cold ocean and when they pull it out, four perfect drops fall back into the sea and those drops became the islands of Japan.I say Japan was made by a handful of brave men.Warriors willing to give their lives for what it seems to become a forgotten word:honor. What does it means to be samurai? To devote yourself utterly to a set of moral principles. To seek stillness of your mind and to master the way of the sword.
I had the opportunity to learn a little Japanese and it's really not that hard. There is so much in Japan that I will never understand.I have never been a church going man and what I have seen on the field of battle is let me to question god purpose. But there is indeed something spiritual in that place. And though it will may be forever obscure to me I can not be aware of its power. In this place you can truely find peace of your soul.Everyone is polite, everyone smiles and bows but beneath that courtesy I detect a deep reservoir of feelings. They are intrigant people. From the moment they wake, they devote themselves to the perfection of whatever they persue.I have never seen such discipline.I am surprised to learn that the word ''samurai'' means to serve.Serve the king and if he is dead serve the people. In November 2007, Internet penetration rate in Romania reached 31.4% of the total population estimated at 22.27 million inhabitants, the number of broadband connections was 1,769,300.It is not too much nor too little.A positive effect that internet had is that the Romanians could communicate with those left for work.Due to very poor situation of Romania almost 4 million romanians emigrated. But using Internet they could communicate with the loved ones.On the other hand a negative effect of the spread of internet in Romania was that the children and teenagers have become more isolated.Maybe some video games are too violent for a child. With the spread of social networking streets have become more desolate and childhood games were abandoned. It is remarkable that using social networking we can can live history. In April last year it was that riot from Basarbia.
Television news were not sufficient for me so I got in touch using Internet with the Romanians from there and they have provided me incredibly detailed information.I did not sleep 3 days and 3 nights but the unique experience was worth it.In 1918,Basarbia was the first who united with the mother country,Romania. Then was the first step to great connection from 1 December.History has not been with us.We come now to wonder whether our destiny lies not in the hands of other people? Is it so?What unites us?What separates us?The History? The language? The culture? The river Prut?Maybe the people...I recently communicated with people from Poland and I was impressed by their tragic story. What role I think online social networking will have in the future?Inevitably the world is changing. Now it is not enough to take good decisions but to take good decisions quickly. We live in a world of speed.Time is a sweet ilusion.Older generations say that we move too fast and we do not fully enjoy life.To sum up,I think they are wrong and they are jealous because they can not keep up wih us.Or maybe they can not understand.Life is more beautiful when you appreciate every moment, when you live with intensity.Quality will always beat quantity. It is obvious that technology will evolve:PC storage capacity, speed, image quality, complexity of the operating system, the number of people that ''live connected'' will increase and maybe scientists will find ways to remove the negative effects that computer has on our body.Or perhaps contrary continuous improvement of the system will increase the danger rate which we expose our bodies.Despite the greatness of science the human mind remains a mystery.I do not dare try to guess and even to speculate what psychological effect will have social networking in the future. For the mystery beauty's sake I will do not.
